A vivid expression of heritage and contemporary tailoring, the Vermilion Cranes in Flight Tuxedo Jacket is a one-of-a-kind piece created from a vintage Japanese wedding kimono (uchikake). The brilliant vermilion silk provides a dramatic canvas for the intricate embroidery, transformed into a sharply tailored modern silhouette.

Embroidered cranes sweep across the front, back and sleeves in a remarkable palette of ivory, deep blue, jade green, lavender and orange. Surrounded by delicate florals and luminous metallic waves, the cranes appear almost in motion across the jacket. Each section of the original kimono was carefully considered and placed to preserve the beauty and scale of the original handwork.

Finished with a sleek black satin lapel, the jacket brings together the ceremonial artistry of the uchikake with the structure of classic tuxedo tailoring. A singular piece of upcycled couture, handmade in Italy from a textile created to be treasured.
