“I’ve enjoyed the process of repurposing vintage kimonos into exclusive couture tuxedo jackets. During my recent trip to Tokyo, I handpicked kimonos from vintage shops that truly spoke to me. Having lived and worked there for 13 years - first with Rei Kawakubo at Comme des Garcons and then launching my eponymous label - this project resonates deeply with my personal creative journey. My kimono jackets not only honor the garment’s heritage but also create unique, modern couture pieces that celebrate their new purpose.”
